Love Your Body
It takes practice to have body confidence & it's something that we all struggle with at some point in our lives.
Our perception of how we see our body influences so many aspects of our lives, that it's important to have a positive body image.
Here are my tips on how to be more kind to your body.
COMPARISON IS THE THIEF OF JOY
Comparing yourself to others can make you very unhappy. Wishing you had that girl in the magazine shinny hair & long legs is unrealistic & discouraging. Why are we trying to look like someone else that doesn't have our shape or body type? Rather focus on YOU. We are all unique, so if you are going to compare, compare to your previous self & work on your current self. It can be a difficult task but a more fulfilling & motivating one. You are the only one that can improve you.
EMBRACE THE BODY YOU HAVE
We so often take our bodies for granted & don't appreciate them enough, as they adapt to our lifestyle changes. If you are good to your body, it will be good back to you. So rather than punishing yourself for your flaws & imperfections that make you who you are, celebrate them. Don't be ashamed of your body, it's the only one you have, so be proud of it! Accept your body today, love your body tomorrow & embrace it always.
TAKE POSITIVE ACTIONS
Exercise has such a positive impact in the way we feel. The benefits of working out are deeper than physical. Find an activity that you enjoy, whether it's at the gym or a park or a pool... Whatever it is, it will make you feel good. If you feel good, you look good. Mindset also influences the way you feel, so learn to have a positive motivation to exercise. Workout out because you love your body, not because you hate it!
Positive self talk & self worth. We are our worst critics. Constantly telling ourselves that we are not good enough, is creating negative feelings. Nobody has time for that! So leave the negativity out & speak kindly to yourself. Your worth is not measured by how you look, but rather how you value yourself as a person.
Self care has become a luxury. With busy, non-stop lives, we don't prioritise ourselves enough. Self care is taking time for ourselves when we need it & it should be part of our daily routines. It's so important to take care of & invest in ourselves. It could be as simple as going to the spa for a massage or taking 5 minutes to play your favorite instrument or meditate & relax. Being more mindful of what we eat is also taking care of ourselves, nurturing our bodies with wholesome & nutritious food will help us feel better.
I hope these tips will encourage you to work on yourself & your body image!
